Of the others, Epitaph is the other track that resonates with the same quality. That and the title track closer are bonafide prog classics. The album that kicked it all off and the one I actually knew/owned beforehand, so it’s the one I’ll talk about the least.Ģ1st Century Schizoid Man is one of the great opening tracks in music history.

These bands included the likes of System of a Down, Mastodon, Sum 41, Rise Against, Ghost, Volbeat and a number of others.
I used it as an example to delve into the back catalogue of a number of bands, from those I already liked to those I knew pitifully little. A year or two back I used to publish monthly(ish) reviews of band’s studio album discographies.
